Ron Birnbaum Appointed Head of Americas Region at Degussa's High Performance Polymers
Effective June 1, Ron Birnbaum has been appointed head of the Americas Region at Degussa's High Performance Polymers Business Unit, responsible for business in North and South America. The region is headquartered in Parsippany, NJ.
Birnbaum holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Science and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. “Ron brings to us the benefit of many years’ experience in a variety of posts in the plastics industry,” said Dr. Joachim Leluschko, head of the business unit, which is headquartered in Marl, Germany. "This experience will be extremely valuable to us in attaining our ambitious growth targets in the region."
The High Performance Polymers Business Unit focuses on the production of customized products, semifinished products, and systems based on high-performance polymers. It currently employs more than 1,000 people in Marl and at the production sites of Darmstadt, Witten (both Germany), Lenzing (Austria), Magnolia (USA), Aboshi (Japan), and Changchun (China). It also has access to a worldwide sales and marketing network that includes the hubs of Marl, Shanghai, and Parsippany.
