Degussa AG High Performance Polymers raising prices for VESTAMELT® CoPA/CoPES
As of December 1, 2004, the High Performance Polymers Business Unit of Degussa AG, Düsseldorf, will be raising its prices: by 5% for its VESTAMELT® copolyamide hot-melt adhesives and by 3% for its VESTAMELT® copolyester hot-melt adhesives. The business unit attributes its price hikes to raw material costs, which have risen sharply over the last few months. These costs cannot be offset any further by intensive internal cost-cutting measures. A further rise in costs is expected.
In addition to CoPA and CoPES hot-melt adhesives of the VESTAMELT® series, the range of products from the High Performance Polymers Business Unit includes polyamide 12, polyamide 612, polyamide 12 elastomer compounds, transparent polyamides, polyamide 12 powders, specialty compounds based on polybutylene terephthalate, polyphenylene ether compounds, and a semicrystalline rubber. High Performance Polymers also offers the world's most extensive range of technically available cyclic C8 and C12 building blocks.
