Press Release 21.02.2008
New Black VESTOSINT® Electrostatic Powder
Essen, Germany-based Evonik Industries has added a new polyamide 12 coating powder to its product portfolio. The black VESTOSINT® powder for electrostatic application processes can be applied with commercially available tribo and corona spray guns.
The new coating powder makes it possible to attain relatively low coating-film thicknesses, down to 40 µm. The coating films are distinguished by excellent corrosion protection and good resistance to oil, grease, and chemicals. In particular, the outstanding mechanical properties of the new VESTOSINT®, such as abrasion resistance and flexibility, make it ideal for coating, for example, flexible drive shafts for sun roofs and shading systems in the automotive industry.
Thanks to a production process unique in the world, this latest product—like all VESTOSINT® powders—has excellent flow and fluidization properties, ensuring good and homogeneous electrostatic processability.
